September 17 2013 ushered in a new era of open world game in the form of Grand Theft Auto V. A month later came Grand Theft Auto Online, the multiplayer portion of GTA:V. Since then people across the internet have been crying out for the heist update but so far Rockstar Games has kept tight lipped about when they will come instead opting to release numerous free DLC for both online and the base game.
The latest free update is the ‘San Andreas Flight School’. Included are a selection of land and air vehicles along with some patriotic flag themed parachute bags including the flags of Canada, the United Kingdom, Scotland and of course the USA. The final shot of the trailer shows three jets with colored smoke trailing (much like what you can do with the parachute).

I started this talking about the heists for a reason. I have a theory, a good one. I believe that the heist content will come to GTA:O around the same time GTA:V comes out on PC and the next generation consoles (PS4/XBoxOne) towards the end of the year. This would give the game a boost in publicity around the same time Rockstar are trying to flog the new versions. My best guess is that we will get a release date for the game followed by a heist release date a month later.
I’ve been meaning to write about the thought of heists for a while but wanted to make sure the next update wasn’t the heist update people have been waiting for.
