Strange Things Are A Foot

This feature breaks the format a little, sorry. But what is said is important and I need to say it to you guys who have stuck with me.

So over the last few years I’ve been looking at this site the wrong way. I have spent my time trying to run before I learn to walk. I had grandiose plans of expansion and of it being the next big game news site but it is only now, 5 years and 63 posts later that I realise I am over reaching what I can do on my own and what I expect from the site in a short space of time.

The last 5 years I have averaged (not including the 6 posts written by guests) only 57 posts which works out at only 11.4 posts each year, or to put it another way less than 1 (0.95 to be exact) post each month! I believe that news may move ever so slightly faster than that and not every post has been entirely news based.

Basically I tried too hard to expand without laying the groundwork and for that I apologise.

Over the next few weeks I will be revamping the site to be more an expression of myself more than the expression of what I hope the future holds for it. I will still write about games but I’ll personally be more focused on the video side of things and expanding upon the live streams and YouTube content now that I have the equipment set up for it. I know I have spent years saying that but I have proof, look:

Look we have mics, double PC setups and a dehumidifier!!
I started GameSyncUK not because I thought it would be an easy job but because I loved video games, I still love video games. They have got me through some of the toughest times in my life and to this day are still the crutch I use where others turn to alcohol and drugs. They have the power to unite people and whilst we may have sub-communities like those who swear by Xbox, PlayStation or PC we are all still a single community and we all still have each others backs.

So with that in mind what do you want to see from me? What sort of content do you feel our community is missing? I would love to hear your suggestions and advice on where to take this. A lot of what I do with GameSyncUK is going to come from you guys, I want this to become our project not just my project.

As always you can get in touch using the comments below, fire us a tweet on Twitter where we are @GameSyncUK, catch us on Facebook, Twitch and don’t forget to subscribe on YouTube!
